Data Protection & Your Rights

At YooHoo Social, we believe in transparency, consent, and respect. Here's what you need to know about your personal information in plain, friendly language.

Who We Are

YooHoo Social is a community gathering platform for the Radical Faeries, operated by Junovy ([protected]; KvK 71813977). Junovy is both the operator and data controller for the personal data processed through this platform.

What We Collect

When you create an account, register for gatherings, or use our contact form, we collect information like:

  • Your name and display name
  • Email and phone number
  • Details needed for gathering participation (dietary requirements, accessibility needs)
  • Emergency contact information
  • Optional information for carpooling or pickup coordination

We only collect what's necessary to operate the platform and organise safe, welcoming gatherings.

Your Rights Under GDPR

As someone whose data we process, you have important rights. Here's what they mean in practice:

Right to Access

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you. We'll provide a clear, understandable summary of your data within 30 days.

Right to Rectification

If any of your information is incorrect or outdated, you can ask us to fix it. We want your data to be accurate!

Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten")

You can request that we delete your personal data. We'll do this unless we have a legal obligation to keep it (for example, for safety records or tax purposes). Note that we automatically delete carpooling data 30 days after gatherings and contact form data after 6 months. Your account can be deleted at any time on request.

Right to Restrict Processing

You can ask us to temporarily stop processing your data while we resolve a dispute or verify information.

Right to Data Portability

You can request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format (like JSON or CSV) so you can take it elsewhere if you wish.

Right to Object

You can object to us processing your data for certain purposes. For example, if you no longer want to receive emails about future gatherings, you can opt out at any time.

Right to Withdraw Consent

If you've given us consent to process your data (like for marketing emails), you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect the lawfulness of processing that happened before you withdrew it.

How to Exercise Your Rights

Exercising your rights is simple:

  • Email us

Send a message to info@junovy.com with your request. Please include your name and email address so we can verify your identity.

  • Be specific

Tell us which right you want to exercise and what data you're concerned about. This helps us respond quickly and accurately.

  • We'll respond within 30 days

We're committed to responding to all requests within one month. If your request is complex, we may need a bit more time, but we'll let you know.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

If you're not satisfied with how we've handled your data or your rights request, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (AP)

Website: autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl

We hope it never comes to this, but we respect your right to seek external oversight if needed.

What We Do to Protect Your Data

We take data protection seriously:

  • All data is stored on encrypted servers in Germany (European Union), hosted by Hetzner
  • Access is restricted to authorised platform administrators and Junovy technical staff only
  • We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to prevent unauthorised access, loss, or alteration of your data
  • Authentication is handled through Keycloak, a self-hosted identity provider; we do not store your password directly
  • We regularly review and update our security practices
  • We only keep data for as long as necessary (see our Privacy Policy for retention periods)
